Dar Naim Map Poster & Print
Dar Naim is one of the districts of Nouakchott, the capital of Mauritania, located on the northeastern side of the city in the Nouakchott North region. The capital was founded around 1960 and grew quickly, and Dar Naim reflects that fast expansion. From above it is a large area of mainly residential blocks laid out on flat, sandy ground.
Streets run mostly in straight lines, forming a loose grid of wide blocks, with open lots and unpaved areas between them. Toward the outer edge, the built-up area opens onto the dunes and desert that surround the capital, and the street pattern becomes looser as it reaches newer neighbourhoods.
A Dar Naim map poster shows the geometry of a young desert city: repeated rectangular blocks, long straight roads and a clear boundary where the city meets the sand. In a minimalist style, the regularity of the plan and the open ground around it create a calm, graphic image.

Wide, open blocks
Blocks are large and often only partly built, so the map shows a looser, more open texture than older city centres.
Desert edge
On its outer side, the district fades into sand, and the street network thins out where the city meets the surrounding dunes.

Dar Naimを選ぶ理由
想いが詰まった地図
Dar Naim is home to a large part of Nouakchott's population, and for families who have moved elsewhere, a map of the district shows the streets where they grew up with quiet precision.
Add your own title and coordinates, perhaps a family name or a year, and choose one of five styles; Sand and Paper suit desert maps particularly well. A free watermarked preview lets you check it first.
