Lindsay Map Poster & Print
Lindsay is the main town of the City of Kawartha Lakes in central Ontario, built along the Scugog River just south of Sturgeon Lake. The river runs north through town, and Lindsay is home to a lock on the Trent–Severn Waterway, the historic canal route that links Lake Ontario with Georgian Bay.
On the map, the town follows a regular grid typical of nineteenth-century Ontario, with the river cutting diagonally across it. Kent Street, the unusually broad main street, runs east-west through the centre. Residential streets spread out in even blocks on both sides of the water, joined by a few bridges.
North of town the river opens towards the lake country that gives the region its name, and summer traffic heads through Lindsay towards cottages on the Kawarthas. A Lindsay map poster captures the grid, the river and the waterway that connects this small town to a much larger system of lakes.
