Uster Map Poster & Print
Uster lies in the canton of Zurich, on the eastern shore of the Greifensee, a lake that gives the map a smooth, elongated shape of water on its western side. The town spreads inland from the lake toward the hills of the Zurich Oberland, with its centre grouped around the station and the main streets.
The Aabach stream flows through Uster toward the lake, and in the nineteenth century its water powered many textile mills, some of which still stand. The town is known in Swiss history for the Ustertag of 1830, a gathering that helped push for democratic reform in the canton. Uster Castle stands on a rise above the centre.
