The map
Cieza Map Poster & Print
Cieza lies in the valley of the Segura River in the Region of Murcia. From above, the river's winding course and the green band of irrigated land along it contrast with the dry, rugged hills around. The old town sits on higher ground above the river, with narrow streets that open towards newer, more regular blocks spreading across the flatter land.
The town is known for its fruit orchards, especially peach trees, and each year the blossom season turns the surrounding valley pink and draws visitors to the area. On a hill above town lies Medina Siyâsa, the remains of a medieval Islamic settlement whose excavated houses and streets offer a rare view of an Andalusi town layout.
A Cieza map poster traces the river bend, the irrigation network in the valley and the transition from old streets to newer blocks. The hills appear as open, empty spaces, making the river corridor the clear heart of the composition and a strong reminder of how water shaped life in this dry region.

Medina Siyâsa hill
On a hilltop above Cieza lie the excavated remains of Siyâsa, a medieval Islamic town whose layout of houses and lanes has been studied in detail by archaeologists.
Orchard valley
Peach and other fruit orchards fill the irrigated valley, forming a patchwork of small plots and tracks around the town that gives the map a fine texture.
