Djurgårdsbron
The ornate bridge from Strandvägen is the main land link to the island, a short crossing that anchors the western edge of the map.

The map
Djurgården Map Poster & Print
Djurgården is an island in the middle of Stockholm, separated from the city by narrow channels and linked by bridges, including Djurgårdsbron. It was once a royal hunting ground and remains largely green, and it is part of the Royal National City Park, created in 1995. On a map it appears as a large open shape with only a thin network of roads.
Most of the built area lies along the western shore, facing the centre. The Vasa Museum, which houses a seventeenth-century warship, stands here, along with the Nordic Museum, the open-air museum Skansen and the Gröna Lund amusement park. Further east, meadows, woods and villas take over, and the Djurgårdsbrunn canal separates the island from the mainland to the north.
Ferries cross from Slussen and Nybroplan, and a heritage tram line runs onto the island. A Djurgården map poster shows the contrast between the museum waterfront and the green interior, with the waters of Stockholm wrapped around it. On this map, water and woodland carry most of the composition, which is rare for a city print.

Museum waterfront
Along the western shore, the Vasa Museum, Skansen and Gröna Lund form a line of larger buildings and grounds facing the city across the water.
Djurgårdsbrunnskanalen
A narrow canal cuts across the north of the island, separating it from the mainland and giving the whole shape its clear island outline.

Why Djurgården
A map that means something
Djurgården suits anyone who has spent summer days on its paths, visited its museums with family or lived nearby in Östermalm. Its mix of water, woods and few streets makes a calm, spacious poster, quite unlike a typical city map.
Personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates line, perhaps with a family name or a wedding date, and choose one of five styles. Noir turns the surrounding water into a dark frame, while Paper keeps the look soft and light.
