Castle on the spur
The fortified imperial castle takes up the northern end of the old town. It is a walled enclosure with its own internal street pattern, clearly set apart from the town below.

The map
Friedberg Map Poster & Print
Friedberg sits on a low rise in the Wetterau, the fertile basin north of Frankfurt in Hesse. From above, the town is built along a clear north–south line. The walled imperial castle sits on its spur at one end, and the old market town stretches down from it along the broad main street. Newer districts spread outward over gentle farmland slopes, cut through by rail lines and regional roads.
The castle and the town grew up as two separate communities, and the map still shows it. The castle compound is a tight, enclosed block with its own lanes. Below it, the civic town has a looser pattern of parcels and side streets running off the central axis. The medieval Jewish ritual bath, one of the deepest in Germany, is hidden in this fabric and doesn't show at street scale.
A Friedberg map poster turns this double town into a clean graphic line. It is a compact core with a clear spine, set within the open, gently rolling grid of the Wetterau. Many visitors also know that Elvis Presley was stationed here with the US Army in the late 1950s. For most residents, though, the map simply shows home: the castle hill, the main street and the fields beyond.

The long main street
A wide main street runs south from the castle through the historic centre. It forms the backbone that nearly every older lane in Friedberg branches from.
Wetterau farmland
Beyond the built edge, the map opens into the broad, lightly patterned farmland of the Wetterau. It is some of the most productive ground in Hesse, crossed by straight rural roads.

Why Friedberg
A map that means something
Friedberg has an unusually clear shape for a small town: a castle, a spine and a ring of fields. It is easy to recognise at a glance, which makes it a good gift for someone who grew up here, studied nearby or once served at the old barracks.
You can personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates line, for example with a family name or a moving date. Choose from five styles: Classic black and white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. The poster is available as digital HD files or as a printed poster, with an optional frame.
