The map
Kladno Map Poster & Print
Kladno lies about 25 kilometres west of Prague and is the largest city in the Central Bohemian Region. It grew rapidly in the nineteenth century around coal mining and steelmaking, particularly the Poldi steelworks, and that industrial past is still written into the map. Large former industrial sites, rail lines and worker housing sit alongside the older town centre and its castle.
The historic core around the main square is compact, but the city spreads widely in every direction. Postwar housing estates form big geometric blocks on the outskirts, while older neighbourhoods follow more irregular lines. Former mine sites, spoil heaps and industrial zones add large, distinct shapes, and patches of woodland and parkland soften the edges as the city meets the countryside.
Kladno is also closely linked with ice hockey and is the hometown of Jaromír Jágr, one of the sport's best-known players. A Kladno map poster captures a city that has reinvented itself after heavy industry, where the traces of mines and steelworks remain visible from above. It suits anyone who knows its streets or its long industrial story.

Housing estates
Postwar panel-building estates form big, regular blocks on the outskirts, a strong geometric contrast to the smaller and more irregular streets of the old centre.
Castle and square
The historic centre, with its main square and castle, forms a compact core from which the rest of the city has grown in every direction.
