The map
Kodaira Map Poster & Print
Kodaira lies in the western part of Tokyo Metropolis, on the flat Musashino plateau. The map shows a city that is long from east to west and narrow from north to south. This shape goes back to the Edo period, when settlers cleared new fields here along the Ome Kaido road and divided the land into long strips running away from it.
That pattern is still visible. Many lanes and property lines run in parallel, perpendicular to the old highway, like the teeth of a comb. Along the northern edge, the Tamagawa Jōsui, the aqueduct that once supplied Edo with water, runs as a tree-lined line across the map. Suburban railway lines cross the city on their way into central Tokyo.
A Kodaira map poster shows a residential suburb with an unusually clear structure. Large green spaces, including the Kodaira cemetery, universities and parks, appear as calm open areas among the fine street pattern. It is a quiet part of Tokyo, and its map shows how history can survive in the layout of land.

Why Kodaira
A map that means something
Kodaira is the kind of place where people put down roots: close to Tokyo but calmer, with parks, campuses and long green paths. A map of the city will mean something to residents, former students and anyone who once lived near the aqueduct and walked it every day.
You can edit the title, subtitle and coordinates line, whether that is a romanised name, a date or a short note. Choose from Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. The $9 files include 300 DPI PNGs and print-ready PDFs in six sizes, with no watermark.
