The map
Mauguio Map Poster & Print
Mauguio lies just east of Montpellier, between the city and the lagoons of the Languedoc coast. Its historic centre is one of the more striking shapes on any map of the area. The old streets form a rounded core, curving around the site of the medieval mound, and newer neighbourhoods spread out beyond that ring.
To the south lies the Étang de l'Or, also known as the Étang de Mauguio, a broad shallow lagoon edged with reeds and marshland. Beyond it, the commune reaches the sea at Carnon, a beach resort with a marina and apartment blocks lining the shore. Few small towns cover such a range of landscapes within one boundary.
Montpellier–Méditerranée Airport is also within the commune, its runway a clean straight line near the lagoon. A Mauguio map poster can centre on the round old town, or be framed wider to take in lagoon, coast and airport together.

Étang de l'Or
The large coastal lagoon spreads south of the town, a wide open shape with irregular marshy edges between Mauguio and the sea.
Carnon seafront
The commune's beach resort lines the Mediterranean with a marina and a long straight shoreline, a sharp contrast to the curving town centre.
