The map
Neira Map Poster & Print
Neira lies in the Caldas department of Colombia, north of Manizales, high in the Andes. The town occupies a narrow ridge, and its streets follow a grid that has been adapted to the steep terrain. On the map, the centre appears as a compact block of streets, with roads twisting down the slopes into the surrounding valleys.
The area belongs to Colombia's coffee-growing region, and the hillsides around Neira are covered with farms, forest patches and small streams. It is one of the older towns of the Caldas region, founded during the nineteenth-century Antioquian settlement of the central Andes.
A Neira map poster shows a regular town plan set against an irregular mountain landscape. The contrast between the ordered grid and the winding roads around it gives the design a strong, distinctive character. It suits anyone connected to the Eje Cafetero and its hilltop towns.

Mountain roads
Roads leave the town in tight curves, winding down the slopes toward Manizales and the valleys, forming loose, looping lines around the centre.
Coffee slopes
Farmland and forest cover the steep hillsides, with small streams cutting through them, leaving the outer areas of the map open and lightly marked.
