The map
Peribán de Ramos Map Poster & Print
Peribán de Ramos lies in the highlands of western Michoacán, close to the Pico de Tancítaro, the state's highest mountain. From above, the town sits on sloping volcanic ground, with its street grid bending to follow the terrain and roads climbing away toward the orchards and pine-covered hills.
This is avocado country. Michoacán produces most of Mexico's avocados, and the land around Peribán is covered in orchards laid out in neat rows across the slopes. On a monochrome print, those plantations and the tracks between them give the outskirts of the map a patterned, cultivated texture.
A Peribán de Ramos map poster shows a mountain town shaped by its slope and by the crops around it. For families here, and for the many who have moved north to the United States, it is an honest portrait of home.

Tancítaro highlands
