The map
Punalūr Map Poster & Print
Punalūr lies in Kollam district, Kerala, where the Kallada river emerges from the foothills of the Western Ghats. From above, the river is the defining feature, winding through the town with roads and houses following both banks. The land rises towards the east, and plantations and forest press close to the town's edges.
Punalūr is known for its suspension bridge across the Kallada, built in the late nineteenth century and now a protected historic structure. The town also has a long association with the paper industry, and it serves as a gateway to the hill routes leading to Thenmala and on towards Tamil Nadu.
A Punalūr map poster shows the town in its setting: the river curving through the centre, the historic bridge as a small but significant line across it, and roads climbing towards the hills. It is a place defined by water and slope, and the print reflects that.

Suspension bridge
The historic hanging bridge crosses the Kallada near the centre. On the print it is a short line, but it marks the town's best-known landmark.
Roads into the Ghats
Routes leave Punalūr towards the east, winding into the hills and linking the town to Thenmala and the mountain crossing into Tamil Nadu.
