Tsuki River bends
The river winds through the town in broad curves. On the map it is the most expressive line, flowing through the valley between hills and fields.

The map
Ranzan Map Poster & Print
Ranzan lies in the Hiki district of central Saitama, where the Kantō plain begins to rise towards the Chichibu hills. The Tsuki River flows through the town in wide bends, and the settled area follows the valley and the main roads. Rice fields fill the flatter ground, and wooded hills close in on several sides, so the map combines river curves with patches of field and forest.
The town's name is linked to Arashiyama in Kyoto. A bend of the river here, known as the Ranzan valley, was said to resemble that famous scenery, and the town name follows from that comparison. The ruins of Sugaya Castle, a medieval fortification, are also located in the town and are recognised as a national historic site.
A Ranzan map poster has the soft, layered texture of rural Japan. The river gives the print its main curve, while the roads and scattered houses add a finer grain. It is a quiet, balanced map that suits a calm interior.

Sugaya Castle site
The earthworks of the medieval castle survive in the town. On a map, the site shows up as an area of open ground among the surrounding roads.
Hills and paddies
Low wooded hills and flat rice fields meet around the town. The mix gives the edges of the map an irregular, natural pattern.
