Iruma River
The river crosses the city in a gentle curve. Its banks and bridges divide the residential areas and give the map a strong natural line.

The map
Iruma Map Poster & Print
Iruma lies in southwestern Saitama Prefecture, where the Kanto plain begins to meet the hills to the west. The Iruma River runs through the city, and its streets spread across the ground on either side. Residential neighbourhoods form a fine, irregular mesh around the stations, and the outer areas open into fields and wooded slopes.
Iruma is part of the Sayama tea region, one of Japan's northernmost major tea-growing areas, and neat rows of tea bushes are part of its landscape. Iruma Air Base of the Japan Air Self-Defense Force occupies a large site at the city's edge. Its runway forms a long straight line on the map, and the base holds a popular annual air show.
An Iruma map poster brings these textures together: dense residential streets, the curves of the river, open fields and the precise lines of the airfield. It suits people who grew up here or commuted from here into Tokyo, as well as those who know the city through its tea or its air show.

Air base
Iruma Air Base occupies a large site with a long runway. Its straight, clean shape contrasts with the fine grain of the surrounding streets.
Tea fields
Sayama tea is grown in and around the city. Parts of the outskirts are farmland rather than housing, which leaves open areas on the poster.
