The map
Sagamihara Map Poster & Print
Sagamihara stretches across northern Kanagawa, from the flat Sagamihara plateau in the east to the forested Tanzawa mountains and lakes in the west. From above, the eastern part is a regular pattern of suburban streets and rail lines, while the west opens into steep valleys, rivers and reservoirs such as Lake Sagami.
The Sagami River runs along the edge of the plateau, cutting a clear line through the city. Sagamihara is home to the JAXA Sagamihara Campus, the space science institute that ran the Hayabusa asteroid missions, and Hashimoto station is planned as a stop on the future Chuo Shinkansen maglev line.
A Sagamihara map poster can focus on the dense eastern districts or zoom out to include the river and mountains. Either way, the city shows the transition from Tokyo's suburban sprawl to the green, wooded interior of Kanagawa.

Why Sagamihara
A map that means something
Sagamihara suits people who live between the city and the mountains, and anyone with a connection to Japan's space missions. The map holds both the grid and the valleys.
