The map
Videira Map Poster & Print
Videira lies in the Rio do Peixe valley in the western midlands of Santa Catarina. The town's name means grapevine. From above, it follows the river's winding course, and the streets climb the valley sides in curves instead of a flat grid. The terrain dominates the map: steep slopes and narrow floodplain, with the town spread along both banks.
Italian immigrants settled the region in the early twentieth century and brought viticulture with them, which is where the name comes from. Videira also became an important centre of food processing. The Perdigão company, later part of BRF, was founded here, and its industrial sites are part of the town's layout.
A Videira map poster brings together river, relief and settlement: bridges crossing the Rio do Peixe, winding hillside streets and rural roads heading off into farm country. It is a quieter composition than a flatland city, and it rewards a closer look.

Hillside streets
Streets follow the contours of the valley. They loop and switch back up the slopes and give the map a soft, organic texture.
Rural road network
Beyond the town, narrow roads run out to farms and vineyards in the hills, a reminder of where the town's name came from.
