The map
Vieques Map Poster & Print
Vieques lies just east of mainland Puerto Rico. It is a long, narrow island running east to west, with a coastline of many bays, points and beaches. From above, a low line of hills runs through the centre, and the south coast is scalloped by a series of small coves.
The inhabited area is concentrated in the middle of the island. Isabel Segunda, the main town, faces north toward the ferry route. Esperanza is a smaller settlement on the south coast. Large areas at the eastern and western ends were used by the US Navy until 2003 and are now a national wildlife refuge, so they appear largely empty on the map.
Mosquito Bay on the south coast is known as one of the brightest bioluminescent bays in the world. A Vieques map poster shows the island's elongated outline, its two small towns and the open protected land at either end.

Wildlife refuge
Former naval lands at both ends are now protected. They leave broad stretches of the map free of roads and settlement.
Mosquito Bay
A small, nearly enclosed bay on the south coast, famous for its bioluminescence. It is a distinctive notch in the shoreline.

Why Vieques
A map that means something
Vieques is a place of long beaches and slow evenings, and many people keep a map of it as a reminder of that pace. The elongated form suits a wide frame above a sofa or desk.
Set the title, subtitle and coordinates line to a beach, a year or anything personal. Choose Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand.
