The map
Wangyuan Map Poster & Print
Wangyuan is a town in the Yinchuan area of Ningxia, on the flat plain that the Yellow River has irrigated for centuries. The landscape is shaped by that water: straight canals and drainage channels divide the land into long rectangular fields, and roads usually follow the same lines.
The built-up area of the town is organised on a grid, with wider roads connecting it to the regional capital and surrounding settlements. As urban growth has extended from Yinchuan, newer blocks with large footprints sit next to older, smaller-scale housing and farmland.
A Wangyuan map poster shows a place defined by straight lines. Streets, canals and field boundaries share the same orientation, and the result is an unusually geometric composition, one that reflects how deliberately this part of the plain has been managed.
