The Yangtze
The river forms a broad, calm expanse beside the district, its width increased by the reservoir created by the Three Gorges Dam downstream.

Zhonggulou Map Poster & Print
Zhonggulou is an urban subdistrict of Wanzhou, in the northeastern part of Chongqing municipality, on the banks of the Yangtze. Here the river runs wide and slow, a result of the Three Gorges Dam downstream, which raised water levels along this stretch and reshaped the waterfront of the whole city.
From above, the area shows the typical logic of a hillside Chinese river city. Streets rarely run straight for long; they follow contours, curve around ridges and climb from the water toward higher ground. Dense blocks of apartments sit on terraces, and roads and bridges link the neighbourhood to the rest of Wanzhou across valleys and water.
A Zhonggulou map poster captures that layered, winding geometry. In black and white, the smooth shape of the Yangtze contrasts with the tangled, contour-following street pattern above it, a very different image from the grids of cities built on flat plains.

Contour streets
Roads bend and loop to follow the hillside, producing an intricate, organic street pattern rather than a regular grid.
Terraced blocks
Dense residential buildings stand on stepped ground rising from the waterfront, giving the map a compact, closely packed texture.
