Ko e mape
Bama lies in Borno State in northeastern Nigeria, southeast of Maiduguri, on the flat plains that stretch toward the Lake Chad basin. From above, the town forms a compact cluster of streets and compounds on open ground, with roads leading out toward Maiduguri and toward the Cameroon border. The surrounding landscape is dry savanna, with seasonal watercourses and scattered farmland.
Bama is one of the larger towns in Borno and has long served as a local centre for trade and farming in the surrounding area. The flat terrain and the semi-arid climate shape its layout, with low-density compounds and wide open spaces around the town. Like much of the region, it has faced great hardship in recent years.
A Bama map poster shows a town set within a vast, open landscape. The dense cluster of streets and compounds stands out against the empty plain, and the roads leading away give the composition clear direction. In a single colour, the simplicity of the landscape becomes its strength, a quiet map of a place with deep roots.
The streets and compounds of the town form a dense, clearly defined cluster on the map, surrounded by open land on all sides.
The main road toward the state capital and other routes toward the border draw strong lines across the plain, connecting Bama with the wider region.
The surrounding land is flat and dry, with seasonal watercourses and sparse farmland, giving the map a wide, open space around the town.
