Ko e mape
Bang Khae lies on the western, Thonburi side of Bangkok, well away from the Chao Phraya River. From above, the district is shaped by two systems laid on top of each other: an older network of khlongs running across former orchards and rice fields, and a newer pattern of roads and dead-end sois leading off the main avenues. Housing estates fill the spaces in between.
Phet Kasem Road, one of Thailand's longest highways, runs straight through the district, and the MRT Blue Line follows it on an elevated track with several stations in Bang Khae. Khlong Phasi Charoen, a historic canal linking the Chao Phraya with the Tha Chin River, crosses the district and still carries boat traffic.
A Bang Khae map poster shows the everyday Bangkok that lies beyond the tourist centre: the long straight avenue, the canals with their small bridges, the sois branching like fishbones and the large shopping and market areas along the main road. In black and white the fine canal lines are especially visible.
The broad highway runs through the district as a strong straight axis, with the elevated MRT Blue Line above it. On the map it divides and organises the surrounding neighbourhoods.
The historic canal crosses Bang Khae in a long, steady line, flanked by houses and small piers. It gives the poster a continuous waterway linking the district to the wider city.
Narrow lanes branch off the main roads and often end in cul-de-sacs, creating a fishbone pattern typical of Bangkok. From above it forms a dense, intricate texture.

Ko e ha Bang Khae
Bang Khae is where many Bangkok families actually live, commute from and grow up. A map of the district is a personal alternative to generic city prints, marking a home by the canal or near a familiar MRT station.
The title, subtitle and coordinates line can be personalised in any way you like, and the design comes in five styles: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand. Blueprint highlights the canals and the long straight avenue with particular clarity.
