Ko e mape
Bannu sits in a broad basin in southern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, enclosed by hills and watered by the Kurram and Tochi rivers. Seen from above, the contrast is striking: an intensively cultivated plain criss-crossed by irrigation channels, surrounded by dry, folded uplands. The town lies within this green basin, its streets leading out into orchards, fields and villages.
The modern town was established in the mid-nineteenth century by the British officer Herbert Edwardes and was known for a time as Edwardesabad. Its plan still shows a compact walled core with a cantonment beside it, and main roads setting out toward Kohat, Lakki Marwat and Waziristan. Bannu has long been a market centre for the surrounding districts.
A Bannu map poster captures a town shaped by water in a dry region. The dense grain of the old bazaar, the more open layout of the cantonment and the fine network of channels across the fields all register clearly in black and white. It is a map for people who know the town well and want to see its setting laid out whole.
Canals and smaller channels spread across the plain around the town, drawing a fine web of lines that separates Bannu's fertile basin from the barren hills beyond.
A dense core of bazaar streets sits alongside the more spacious, regular layout of the cantonment, two distinct patterns easy to read side by side on the map.
The two rivers that feed the basin cross the landscape near the town, giving the poster its natural lines and explaining why this plain is so green.

Ko e ha Bannu
Bannu is a map for families from the district, for those working in the Gulf or in Pakistan's larger cities, and for anyone who remembers its bazaars and orchards. It shows home not as a single landmark but as a whole setting of town, fields and water.
Personalise the title in English or Urdu, add a family name or date to the subtitle, and edit the coordinates line. Choose from five styles: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand, to suit a guest room, a shop or an office.
