Bath sits in a deep bowl of the Avon valley in Somerset. From above, the river curves through the lowest ground, and the streets rise on all sides in terraces that follow the contours of the hills. Few English cities have such a distinctive street plan: curved rows of houses, circles and crescents stand out clearly from the ordinary grid.
The whole city is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, both for its Roman baths, built around natural hot springs, and for its eighteenth-century Georgian architecture. The Circus and the Royal Crescent are among the most recognisable urban forms in Britain. Pulteney Bridge carries shops across the Avon beside a curved weir.
A Bath map poster makes those shapes the focus. The ring of the Circus, the long arc of the Royal Crescent, the river bend and the terraces that climb the slopes all combine into a composition that already looks designed, because much of it was.
A circular street and a great half-moon terrace sit next to each other on the northern slope. They are some of the most striking geometric shapes on any British city map.
The river loops through the lower city and is crossed by a bridge lined with shops, next to a distinctive horseshoe-shaped weir.
On the surrounding hills, rows of houses curve along the slopes, turning the topography into a series of layered lines.

Ko e ha Bath
Bath is a natural choice for people who have studied, married or lived here, and for anyone who loves architecture. Its street pattern is interesting enough to stand on its own as a piece of graphic art.
You can personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates line, for example with a wedding date or a street name. Then pick from Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. Paper suits the city's honey-coloured stone.
