College quadrangles
The colleges' enclosed courtyards give the centre a distinctive pattern of hollow squares and gardens, unlike the solid blocks of most city maps.

Oxford sits where the Cherwell flows into the Thames, known locally as the Isis. From above, the historic centre is a dense grid of colleges, each built around its own quadrangles, with streets like the High and Broad Street threading between them. Meadows press in on several sides, keeping the old city compact and clearly defined.
It is the oldest university in the English-speaking world, with teaching recorded here from the late eleventh century. The Radcliffe Camera, the Bodleian Library and Christ Church are among its best-known buildings, and Port Meadow to the northwest has been common grazing land for centuries.
An Oxford map poster reveals the city's unusual texture. Instead of simple blocks, the centre is made of enclosed courtyards and gardens, their outlines fitted together like a puzzle. Around them, the rivers and meadows form wide open spaces, so the dense core appears almost like an island.
The colleges' enclosed courtyards give the centre a distinctive pattern of hollow squares and gardens, unlike the solid blocks of most city maps.
The two rivers meet south of the centre, their channels and branches framing the old city on two sides.
Christ Church Meadow, the University Parks and Port Meadow open broad green spaces that keep the historic core compact.

Ko e ha Oxford
For students, alumni and anyone who has spent time in Oxford, its streets and quads carry strong memories. A map of the city is a fitting print for a study or a graduation gift, understated and immediately recognisable.
Personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates line, perhaps with a college name or a graduation year, and choose Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. The $9 HD files include six print sizes, and printed posters can come with a wooden frame.
