Ko e mape
Belle Île is the largest of the Breton islands, lying off the Quiberon peninsula in southern Brittany. From above it is a plateau of fields and hedgerows cut by small valleys that run down to the sea, with a coastline of coves and headlands. Four communes share the island, Le Palais, Sauzon, Bangor and Locmaria, and their villages are joined by a web of narrow country roads.
Le Palais, the main port, faces the mainland and is dominated by a bastioned citadel reworked by Vauban, whose angular outline shows clearly on a map. Sauzon sits in a narrow inlet to the north. On the opposite side, the Côte Sauvage takes the full force of the Atlantic, and the rocks at Port-Coton there were painted repeatedly by Claude Monet in 1886.
A Belle Île map poster balances these two characters: the calm harbour streets on the landward shore and the frayed, rocky ocean edge. Inland, the lanes and hamlets form a fine, even mesh typical of rural Brittany. The island is small enough to show whole on any print size while keeping its coves and valleys legible.
The fortress above Le Palais harbour, with its angular bastions and outworks, is the most geometric shape on the island and anchors the map's landward side.
The Atlantic-facing coast is a sequence of cliffs, needles and narrow coves, including Port-Coton, giving the poster its most intricate stretch of shoreline.
Short wooded valleys cut through the plateau toward small beaches and ports, so the coastline is punctuated at regular intervals by inlets like Sauzon's.

Ko e ha Belle Île
Belle Île is a summer island for many families, returned to year after year, and a poster of it keeps those crossings from Quiberon close at hand. Its compact, almost oval form also sits comfortably in a frame, with the sea giving it generous margins.
Title and subtitle can be rewritten, perhaps with the name of a house or a first summer, and the coordinates line can point to a favourite cove. The five styles, Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand, change the mood without changing the coastline.
