Ko e mape
Bogd is a district centre in the southern part of Övörhangay province, where the grassland of central Mongolia begins to give way to drier country toward the Gobi. From above, the settlement is a small, compact cluster of streets and fenced plots. Open land surrounds it on every side and stretches far beyond the edges of the frame.
The layout is simple and easy to read. A few main streets cross the settlement, with rectangular yards lined along them, as is typical of Mongolian district centres. Outside, unpaved tracks radiate across the steppe toward herding camps and neighbouring districts. On a Bogd map poster this sparse pattern of lines leaves a great deal of white space, and that is its appeal.
Life in the wider district is closely tied to herding. The centre provides schools, services and supplies for families spread across a large area. Because the land around it is so wide and open, the map is defined more by distance than by detail. It shows a small, orderly place holding its own in a very large landscape.
The settlement forms a small, orderly block of streets and fenced plots. It stands out clearly against the surrounding steppe and stays easy to read even at large print sizes.
Dirt roads leave the centre in several directions and fade into the landscape, drawing thin lines that link the district to herding camps and other settlements.
Most of the frame is open land with little mapped detail. This gives the poster a spare, almost abstract quality that suits quiet, minimal interiors.

Ko e ha Bogd
For people from Bogd living in Ulaanbaatar or abroad, a map of the home district is a simple, strong reminder of where they come from. The sparse composition also appeals to anyone drawn to minimal design and wide, open landscapes.
