Éragny sits on the Oise river in the Val-d'Oise, as part of the new town of Cergy-Pontoise northwest of Paris. The map shows the river along one side, with residential neighbourhoods arranged in curving streets, crescents and green corridors that reflect the planning ideas behind the new town.
An older village centre remains visible as a small area of tighter streets, while most of the commune was built in the second half of the twentieth century. Parks and open spaces run between the housing, and railway and road links connect Éragny to Cergy, Pontoise and the capital.
