Đông Phú lies inland in the lowlands of central Vietnam, south of Da Nang, in an area that is now part of the enlarged Da Nang City. From above, the town is a modest strip of streets along a main road. Rice fields fill the flat ground and wooded hills begin to rise toward the west.
The layout follows the logic of many central Vietnamese towns. Shops and houses line the through road, with a few side streets branching out into residential areas.
