Ko e mape
Goba sits in the Bale Zone of southeastern Oromia, at high altitude on the northern side of the Bale Mountains. The land rises sharply to the south toward the Sanetti Plateau, one of the largest areas of Afro-alpine terrain in Africa, and the town's streets are laid out on the gentler ground below it.
Goba was formerly the capital of Bale province and remains an administrative centre, though nearby Robe now shares much of that role. It serves as a gateway to Bale Mountains National Park, known for the Ethiopian wolf and the mountain nyala, and the road south from town climbs across the Sanetti Plateau.
A Goba map poster shows a modest, orderly town with a clear main road and a network of residential streets, set against open highland country. It is a meaningful image for people from the region and for travellers who remember the town as the starting point of a trek into the Bale Mountains.
The town lies on a broad upland shelf with the Bale Mountains rising to the south, so the street network thins out quickly into open grazing land and slopes.
A mountain road heads south from Goba and climbs onto the Sanetti Plateau, one of the highest roads in Africa and the main route across the national park.
Residential streets fan out from the main road in a simple, fairly regular pattern, giving the centre a clear and legible shape on the poster.

Ko e ha Goba
For people from Bale, Goba is a familiar landmark on the way to the mountains, and for visitors it is often the last town before the plateau. Either way, its map holds a strong sense of place and of the journey beyond.
Personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates, perhaps with the date of a trek or a family name. Choose from Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand, and download high-resolution files for $9 or order a printed poster.
