Ko e mape
Goiatuba sits in the south of Goiás, in central Brazil, on the rolling upland of the cerrado. Its centre is a regular grid of blocks laid out across gently sloping ground, with avenues broad enough to show clearly on the map. The town is compact, and beyond its edges the landscape quickly gives way to farmland crossed by rural roads.
Agriculture drives the region, with soy, maize and sugarcane among the main crops of southern Goiás. From above, that economy is visible as a mosaic of very large fields, many with the straight edges of mechanised farming, and occasional strips of native vegetation along the streams. Small watercourses thread between the plots, marking the low ground.
The contrast between the tight urban grid and the expansive fields around it gives the map a clear focal point. A Goiatuba map poster presents the town as it really looks from above: a neat, rectangular core, a few radiating highways and the quiet order of the surrounding countryside, all reduced to thin black lines.
The town is built on a regular pattern of square blocks and straight avenues, giving the map a strong, orderly centre that reads well at any size.
Large, geometric fields surround the town in every direction, their straight boundaries and farm roads forming a broad pattern around the compact core.
Narrow watercourses run through the farmland, often lined with native vegetation, adding curving lines that soften the geometry of the fields.
