Temple at the centre
The Sri Krishna Temple compound anchors the plan. The surrounding streets crowd in close to it, so the busiest, most tightly built part of the map is also its devotional heart.

Ko e mape
From above, Guruvāyūr looks like a town built around a single point. Its streets gather toward the Sri Krishna Temple, and the temple compound and its tank sit at the centre of a small, close grid. Outside that core, the roads loosen and thin out into the low, green country of Thrissur district, where houses, groves and waterways share the flat ground.
The temple is among the most visited pilgrimage sites in South India, and it shapes the town more than anything else. Lodgings, shops and approach roads line the routes toward its gates, and on auspicious days a steady stream of weddings takes place in front of the shrine. The temple's elephants are kept at Punnathur Kotta, a former palace compound a short distance from the town centre.
A Guruvāyūr map poster shows how neatly a place can arrange itself around a devotion. The dense core, the open ground around it and the branching roads that run west toward the Arabian Sea coast make a clear composition in black and white. It is a small map, but it has a real centre.
The Sri Krishna Temple compound anchors the plan. The surrounding streets crowd in close to it, so the busiest, most tightly built part of the map is also its devotional heart.
The rectangular bathing tank beside the temple shows up as a clean, geometric shape of water among the lanes, one of the easiest features to spot on the whole sheet.
Beyond the core, the roads spread out across flat, well-watered land near the Kerala coast, where scattered settlement and waterways replace the compact grid of the town centre.

Ko e ha Guruvāyūr
For many families, Guruvāyūr is where a marriage was blessed, a child was first fed rice or a vow was fulfilled. A map of the town holds that memory in something quiet and restrained, a plain drawing of the streets people walked on the way to the temple gates.
You can add the couple's names, the date of a ceremony or the town's coordinates to the title and subtitle, then pick Classic black and white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. Digital HD files cost $9, and printed posters with an optional wooden frame ship from partners in more than 30 countries.
