Jarinu sits in the hills of eastern São Paulo state, between the larger cities of Jundiaí and Atibaia and within reach of the capital. Its map is shaped by rolling terrain. The small urban centre is a compact cluster of streets, while the rest of the municipality is laced with winding roads that follow ridges and valleys through green, open land.
Much of the area is made up of chácaras, small country properties and weekend retreats, alongside farms and patches of woodland.
