Jiangyin lies on the southern bank of the Yangtze in Jiangsu and is administered as a county-level city under Wuxi. Its name refers to its position south of the river. On a map the Yangtze dominates everything, a broad band of water along the north, with the city's streets pressed against the bank and extending south into flat plains crossed by canals.
Here the Yangtze is narrower than it is further downstream. This made the site strategically important for centuries and later suitable for a crossing. The Jiangyin Yangtze River Bridge, a suspension bridge opened in 1999, links the city to the north bank. A few low hills near the river break up the otherwise level terrain.
A Jiangyin map poster frames the relationship between the city and the river. Port basins and industrial estates line the water, a dense older centre lies inland, and a regular grid of newer districts spreads further out, cut by canals. It is a quietly industrial landscape that becomes graphically striking when reduced to lines.
The river fills the top of the map as a wide, clean field. Docks and industrial quays line its bank and give the shoreline a serrated edge.
The Jiangyin Yangtze River Bridge draws a single thin line across the water to the north bank. It is one of the few breaks in the river's wide expanse.
South of the centre, canals and drainage channels of the Yangtze delta divide the land into regular blocks of fields, villages and factories.

Ko e ha Jiangyin
People usually see Jiangyin from a highway or a bridge, rarely from above. A map poster shows the whole city in one frame, which people who work, study or grew up here often find surprisingly personal.
The title, subtitle and coordinates line are editable, so you can add a district, a company name or a date. Five styles are available, Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand, as a $9 digital file or a printed poster on matte paper.
