Kabbasin, also written Qabasin, lies in the Aleppo Governorate of northern Syria, north-east of Aleppo and close to the town of al-Bab. The land around it is broad and mostly level. Agricultural plains are divided into fields, and the town's built-up area stands out clearly against them. From above, the town reads as a single, fairly compact settlement.
Its streets make a close-knit pattern of blocks around a centre. Roads leave it in several directions towards neighbouring towns and villages.
