Kamphaeng Phet lies on the Ping River in lower northern Thailand, and its map shows old and new side by side. The modern town spreads along the river in a practical grid of streets, while nearby the outline of the historic city is still traced by its walls and moat, an elongated enclosure set parallel to the water. Further out, the roads open into farmland and forest.
The name means wall of diamonds, a reference to the strength of its fortifications. The ruins of the old city, with its laterite temples, seated Buddha images and forest monasteries outside the walls, form Kamphaeng Phet Historical Park, part of the UNESCO World Heritage site that also includes Sukhothai and Si Satchanalai.
A Kamphaeng Phet map poster brings the two layers together: the long, rectangular footprint of the walled city, the curving line of the Ping, and the everyday streets of the current provincial capital. It suits anyone who has visited the historical park or has roots in the province, and it reads clearly at any size.
The historic city is enclosed by walls and a moat in an elongated shape running beside the river, a clear, geometric outline among the modern streets.
The river runs along the town in a broad, gentle curve, separating districts and giving the map a strong natural axis from north to south.
Beyond the walls, the ruins of monasteries are scattered through wooded land, where the map shows a looser network of paths and small access roads.

Ko e ha Kamphaeng Phet
Kamphaeng Phet is quieter than Sukhothai, and those who visit or grow up here tend to remember it more personally. A map of its walls and river is a composed, understated way to keep that memory at home.
Personalise the title and subtitle, including a date of travel or a Thai name, and keep or change the coordinates line. Pick Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. Digital files come in six print sizes for $9.
