Compact town grid
The centre is built on flat ground in relatively regular blocks. That gives the poster a tight, orderly core that contrasts with the openness around it.

Karapınar is a district town in the east of Konya Province, on the high, dry plain of central Anatolia. Its street plan is compact and fairly regular, built on almost level ground. At the edges of town it quickly gives way to large rectangular fields and open steppe. From above, the settlement is a small, dense island inside a very wide landscape.
The surroundings are known well beyond Turkey. Meke Lake, a volcanic crater lake with a cone rising from its centre, lies a short distance from town. The plain is also known for its sinkholes, called obruk locally. Wind erosion was once a serious problem here, and decades of planting and soil work have been used to hold the sand in place.
A Karapınar map poster focuses on the town itself: the grid, the roads leaving it across the plain, and the pattern of fields beyond. The result is a restrained, almost geometric image. It suits people with family roots in the district and those who know this landscape from travelling across central Anatolia.
The centre is built on flat ground in relatively regular blocks. That gives the poster a tight, orderly core that contrasts with the openness around it.
Main roads run out of town toward Konya and the neighbouring districts. Their long, straight lines emphasise how level the plateau is.
The wider plain holds a crater lake and scattered sinkholes. They are a reminder that this quiet grid sits in one of the more geologically unusual corners of central Anatolia.

Ko e ha Karapınar
Karapınar is the kind of place people carry with them after moving to a larger city or abroad. A clean map of the home town, with its grid and straight roads, is a quiet way to keep that connection in view every day.
