Fort on the hill

Ko e mape
Khammam grew up around a rocky hill in eastern Telangana, and the street map still circles that rise. The old fort sits on the high ground near the centre, and the older lanes pack tightly around its base. Outward from there the grid loosens into residential blocks and newer colonies, with the main roads running out towards neighbouring district towns like spokes.
Water shapes the picture as much as stone. The Munneru river passes along the edge of the city, a pale band that interrupts the network of streets, and Lakaram Lake gives the town a broad, rounded open space inside the built-up area. The surrounding district is known for granite quarrying, and the rocky outcrops that break up the plain show up clearly in the pattern of roads.
A Khammam map poster keeps all of this in simple line work: the fort hill as a knot of curving lanes, the lake as a quiet blank, the river as a soft edge and the long roads leaving the frame. Printed in black and white, the city reads as a hill town that has spread across the plain without losing its centre.
The fort occupies the rise at the heart of the old town, and the lanes wrap around its slopes in tight, irregular loops that stand out against the straighter roads further out.
A wide body of water inside the city, Lakaram Lake appears on the poster as a clean open shape ringed by roads and houses, a natural resting point for the eye.
The Munneru runs along the city's edge, and the streets thin out as they approach its banks, giving the map a clear natural boundary on one side.

Ko e ha Khammam
For people from Khammam, the map is a reminder of home that goes beyond landmarks: the road to the fort, the lake at evening, the street a family has lived on for decades. It works well as a gift for someone who has moved to Hyderabad or abroad.
You can set your own title, subtitle and coordinates line, adding a family name or a date that matters, and choose one of five styles: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. The digital files cost $9, and printed posters are shipped by partners in more than 30 countries.
