Khekra lies in the Baghpat district of western Uttar Pradesh, north of Delhi, on the level land east of the Yamuna. On a map the town appears as a tightly packed core of narrow lanes, the kind of irregular pattern that grows over generations, surrounded by newer streets and then by the wide agricultural plain.
The Yamuna runs a short distance to the west, and the land between the river and the town is largely farmland, crossed by tracks and small waterways.
