Branching road network
Local roads split and curve rather than meeting at right angles, so the map reads as a web of fine, organic lines typical of Kerala villages.

Ko e mape
Manakunnam lies on the southeastern side of the Kochi urban area in Ernakulam district, in the low, water-rich country that surrounds Kerala's largest port city. On a map it does not follow a grid. Roads wind between house plots and coconut groves, following slight rises in the land and avoiding the wetter ground that stays under paddy or water for much of the year.
This part of central Kerala is shaped by its backwaters, the network of lagoons, rivers and channels that runs parallel to the Arabian Sea coast. Even small settlements here sit close to water, and the map reflects that: roads stop at the edge of wetlands, lanes curve around ponds, and open green spaces are often fields rather than parks.
A Manakunnam map poster offers a quieter view of the Kochi region than the dense city centre. Houses spread along roadsides rather than in blocks, so the built-up pattern reads as a series of branching lines. The overall effect is soft and loosely woven, a good reflection of how settlement and landscape intertwine in this part of Kerala.
Local roads split and curve rather than meeting at right angles, so the map reads as a web of fine, organic lines typical of Kerala villages.
Low-lying fields and water bodies interrupt the roads, leaving open spaces that show where land gives way to paddy and backwater.
Denser streets toward one side of the map hint at the wider Kochi urban area, contrasting with Manakunnam's looser, greener pattern.

For Malayali families, including many living abroad, a map of home can say more than a photograph. Manakunnam's winding lanes and green spaces make a calm, recognisable image for a living room or a gift for parents.
Write your own title and subtitle, perhaps a family house name, and choose from five styles such as Noir or Sand. The $9 digital files include six print sizes as 300 DPI PNG and print-ready PDF, with no watermark.
