Ko e mape
Maryborough lies on the Mary River in south-east Queensland, a short drive inland from Hervey Bay and the Fraser Coast. From above, the city is laid out on a broad grid that meets the river in a wide bend, with the historic centre close to the water and newer suburbs spreading outward. Long straight streets lined with low houses give the map a calm, regular structure.
In the nineteenth century Maryborough was a major port of entry for immigrants arriving in Queensland, and the old wharf precinct near the river still holds many heritage buildings. The city is also the birthplace of P. L. Travers, author of Mary Poppins, commemorated by a statue in the centre. Timber Queenslander houses raised on stumps are a familiar sight throughout its streets.
A Maryborough map poster frames the city's neat grid against the sweeping curve of the Mary River. The contrast between straight streets and meandering water gives the design both order and movement, and the heritage centre near the wharf appears as a dense, detailed core. It suits anyone with ties to the Fraser Coast or a taste for clear, elegant maps.
The river loops around the edge of the city, a strong curving line that contrasts with the regular street grid it bounds.
Near the river, the historic port area preserves older streets and buildings, forming the most detailed part of the map where the city began.
Broad, straight streets extend across the city in a clear pattern, giving the poster a steady rhythm of blocks and intersections.

Ko e ha Maryborough
Maryborough has deep roots for families descended from immigrants who first landed at its wharf, and for locals who know its streets and river well. A map poster brings these connections together in a subtle, modern way.
Choose a title and subtitle to mark a family history or a special occasion and keep the coordinates line. Pick one of five styles and order a printed poster, with or without a wooden frame, or download the files for $9.
