Ko e mape
Mill Creek lies in southern Snohomish County, north of Seattle, and began as a master-planned community built around a golf course and country club before incorporating as a city in 1983. The map makes that origin clear. Streets curve and loop instead of running in a grid, and many of them end in neat cul-de-sacs that branch like leaves off a stem.
At the heart of the plan the fairways form a large, winding open space, with homes lining their edges. Ravines and creek corridors, kept wooded, cut through the neighbourhoods and add dark, irregular bands between the streets. Along the main arterial, the Town Center gathers shops and restaurants into a more compact, walkable block.
A Mill Creek map poster reads as a study in postwar suburban design at its most deliberate. Its looping roads, green buffers and the wide ribbon of the golf course produce a pattern that looks almost ornamental in black and white, quite unlike the rigid grids found elsewhere in the Puget Sound region.
The country club fairways wind through the middle of the city, a broad open shape that the surrounding neighbourhoods were planned around.
Short dead-end streets branch off curving collector roads, giving the map its distinctive leaf-like, organic suburban texture.
Forested ravines and stream buffers run between the housing areas, dark green seams that separate one neighbourhood from the next.

Ko e ha Mill Creek
Mill Creek is often chosen for its quiet streets and green spaces, the kind of place people settle into to raise a family. A poster of its looping plan marks a first house, a childhood street or a move to the Pacific Northwest.
Add a title, a subtitle such as a move-in date, and a coordinates line. Pick one of five styles, Classic black and white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. Blueprint suits the planned, drafted character of the layout.
