Mūkondapalli lies on the high Deccan plateau in Tamil Nadu's Krishnagiri district, next to the industrial town of Hosur and close to the border with Karnataka. At almost 900 metres above sea level, the land here is fairly flat, with scattered rocky outcrops and small reservoirs.
