Ko e mape
Pandaan lies in Pasuruan Regency, East Java, on the route between Surabaya and Malang, where the lowland plain begins to rise toward the mountains. On the map the main road and the toll road form strong lines through the town, while smaller streets and village lanes fill the land between them. The terrain climbs gently to the west toward the Arjuno-Welirang and Penanggungan massifs.
The town has developed into an industrial and commercial centre, with factories and warehouses spread along the main roads and residential kampungs clustered behind them. Rice fields and small plantations remain around the edges, and streams run down from the mountains through the landscape, giving the map an irregular natural texture.
Pandaan is also known for the Candra Wilwatikta open-air theatre, where performances of the Ramayana ballet have been staged against the backdrop of the mountains. A Pandaan map poster captures this mix of highway town, industry and village life, set at the foot of the volcanoes that shape the region.
The main road and the toll road run through Pandaan, forming the strongest lines on the map and linking it to the two largest cities of East Java.
The land rises toward the volcanic massifs to the west, and streams flowing down from the slopes cut thin, curving lines through the town.
Behind the main roads, dense residential kampungs form an intricate pattern of narrow lanes and small blocks, filling the spaces between factories and fields.
