Ko e mape
Québec City grew where the St. Lawrence River narrows beneath the cliff of Cap Diamant, a strategic point that gave the city its name, taken from an Algonquian word for a narrowing of the river. On a map the broad river sweeps along the south-eastern side, while the Saint-Charles River curves in from the north to meet it below the old town.
Founded by Samuel de Champlain in 1608, the city is divided between the Upper Town on the heights and the Lower Town along the waterfront, linked by steep streets, stairways and a funicular. The walls of Old Québec, a UNESCO World Heritage site, still enclose the upper part, making it the only fortified city north of Mexico to keep most of its ramparts.
West of the walls, the Plains of Abraham, site of the 1759 battle, open into a large park along the cliff edge, and the Grande Allée runs straight out from the old gates. Further upriver, the Québec Bridge and the Pierre Laporte Bridge cross to the south shore. A Québec map poster gathers all of this into one frame: cliff, river, walls and the city's deliberate geometry.
The fortified upper town, with the star-shaped Citadelle on the cliff, forms a compact and irregular core that stands out clearly against the wider streets beyond the walls.
A long green expanse along the top of the cliff, the battlefield park creates a broad open shape between the old town and the residential streets to the west.
The St. Lawrence and the Saint-Charles meet beside the Lower Town, their curves wrapping the old city on two sides and giving the map its unmistakable outline.

Ko e ha Québec
Québec is a city people often fall for on a first visit and return to for years, whether for Carnaval, a honeymoon or a semester at Université Laval. The map captures the streets they walked, from the old gates down to the port.
Personalise the title, add a subtitle such as a date or a line in French, and keep the coordinates. Paper and Sand bring out the old-town feel, while Classic black & white, Noir and Blueprint give it a sharper, more graphic look.
