Recodo is a coastal community on the western side of Zamboanga City, on the Zamboanga Peninsula in Mindanao. On the map, it forms a narrow settlement along the shore. The coastal road carries most of the traffic, and houses spread out on either side of it between the sea and rising ground inland.
The shoreline is the defining feature. It shapes the western edge of the map, and the settlement stays close to it in a linear pattern. Short lanes branch off towards the water and the hillsides. This shape is common along the peninsula's coast, where fishing and the road both keep communities near the sea.
