Sangariā is a town in Hanumangarh district, in the north of Rajasthan close to the borders with Punjab and Haryana. The land is flat and dry by nature, but canals have turned much of it into farmland, and on a map the town sits as a dense block of streets in a landscape of rectangular fields.
The canals are the defining lines of the region, running long distances in straight or gently curving courses and feeding a grid of smaller channels. A railway also passes through, and the older part of town clusters near it, while newer neighbourhoods extend along the roads that lead out toward surrounding villages.
The town is also known in the region for its schools and colleges, which have drawn students from surrounding districts for generations. A Sangariā map poster brings these layers together, railway, canal, field and street, in a composition with a quiet geometric logic that works on a wall wherever you now live.
Irrigation canals cut across the flat land in long strokes, dividing it into large farm parcels and giving the whole map a strong linear structure.
The oldest streets gather near the railway line, forming the densest part of the map before the pattern loosens into newer residential blocks.
Around the town the land is divided into regular rectangles, a pattern that fills the margins of the poster with a fine, even texture.
