Ko e mape
Thiruvananthapuram is the capital of Kerala, near the southwestern tip of India. From above, the city appears less as a single grid than as a network of roads following the ridges of low laterite hills, with backwaters, canals and coconut groves filling the valleys between. The Arabian Sea coast runs along the western side in a long, almost straight line.
The historic centre around East Fort holds the Sree Padmanabhaswamy Temple, with its tank and the old fort streets of the former Travancore royal capital. From there, MG Road runs north through the administrative and commercial core toward the museum grounds and zoo, a large green space among denser neighbourhoods.
Along the coast, the map picks up Shanghumukham beach, the airport beside the sea and, further south, the curved bays of Kovalam. A Thiruvananthapuram map poster brings these pieces together, showing how temple, hills, water and shore combine into a city that feels spread out and green even at its most built-up.
The temple and its surrounding fort precinct form a compact walled core, with a large ritual tank and streets arranged around the sacred complex.
The international airport sits unusually close to the shore, its runway running parallel to the beaches of Shanghumukham on the western edge of the city.
Roads curve along ridges rather than forming a grid, producing an organic, branching pattern that becomes especially clear when rendered in black and white.

For Malayalis abroad, former students and people who have worked in the city, this map is a reminder of home that goes beyond postcards. The branching roads and long coastline create a composition that is detailed without feeling crowded.
The title can read Thiruvananthapuram, Trivandrum or anything personal, and the subtitle and coordinates are editable as well. Choose one of five styles, Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand, depending on the look you prefer.
