Tirorā lies in Gondia district in the far east of Maharashtra, a lowland region known for rice farming and its many irrigation tanks. On a map the town forms a compact centre of streets beside a railway line. Around it lie a patchwork of paddy fields and the irregular shapes of lakes and ponds.
