Highway and rail spine
The Princes Highway and the railway run through the town centre side by side. They give the map a strong east–west axis that organises the street grid.

Traralgon is the largest town in the Latrobe Valley in Gippsland, eastern Victoria, about 160 kilometres east of Melbourne. Its centre is a compact grid laid out along the Princes Highway and the Gippsland railway line, which both run east to west through town. Residential areas extend north and south in a mix of grid streets and later curving estates.
Traralgon Creek winds through the town from the south, with parkland along its banks that breaks up the street pattern. The Latrobe Valley is known for its brown coal deposits and the power stations built on them, including Loy Yang just south of the town. Beyond the built-up area, paddocks and roads form a wide agricultural grid.
A Traralgon map poster shows a regional Australian town with a clear structure. The highway and railway form a central spine, the creek adds a winding green line, and the farmland spreads out to the edges. It suits Classic black and white or Sand, which echoes the colours of the Gippsland plains.
The Princes Highway and the railway run through the town centre side by side. They give the map a strong east–west axis that organises the street grid.
The creek winds through the town with parkland along its banks. It is the most organic line in an otherwise orderly layout.
Rural roads and property boundaries form a wide, regular grid around the town, leading out toward the valley's farmland and power station sites.
