Uran is in Raigad district, on the mainland shore of Mumbai Harbour, facing the city across the water. Its map is a mix of wet and dry land. Tidal creeks and mangroves wind inland, salt pans and flat reclaimed ground spread along the shore, and low green hills rise behind the town. The older town centre is a compact grid of lanes set back from the water.
The area has changed a great deal in recent decades. The container port at Nhava Sheva, one of the largest in India, lies nearby, and its long wharves, terminals and container yards form huge rectangles on the map. Wide roads and rail lines connect the port to the rest of the region. Elephanta Island, known for its cave temples, sits in the harbour not far offshore.
An Uran map poster shows both of these worlds: the small older town with its temples and markets, and the large-scale geometry of the port and its supply lines. Between them are creeks, marsh and water, which on paper become flowing, irregular shapes. It is a map of a town on the edge of a huge harbour, where the working coastline and ordinary daily life sit side by side.
The Nhava Sheva port complex nearby forms large, rigid rectangles of terminals and yards along the shore. They are some of the most striking engineered shapes on this coast.
Tidal creeks wind through the low land around the town, edged with mangroves and salt pans. They add winding, organic lines between the straight roads and wharves.
Uran faces the waters of Mumbai Harbour, with Elephanta Island offshore. The open water gives the poster a wide, clear space on one side.

Ko e ha Uran
Uran means different things to different people: an old family town, a port job, a place changing fast at the edge of Mumbai. A map fixes one moment in that change, and many people value that kind of record for their home ground.
You can personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates line, and pick one of five styles: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. Blueprint suits the port and harbour, and Classic keeps the creeks crisp.
